David Ben Shannon, living in Manchester, United Kingdom, is a composer and sound designer, writing music for theatre and film, and concert works.
In 2008, he got a Bachelor degree at the Music Department of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. After that, while being a teacher in primary schools, he specialised in Educational Sciences at various institutions. In 2017, he started a PhD in Early Childhood Education at the Education and Social Research Institute of the Manchester Metropolitan University.
Together with Sarah E. Truman, Shannon forms the electronic music duo Oblique Curiosities.
In 2013, David Ben Shannon wrote the musical score for The Master and Margarita, a play created by Max Rubin for the Lodestar Theatre Company in Liverpool. The play, a multi-layered show with visual projections by digital artist Adam York Gregory and video mapper Gray Hughes, was represented at the Unity Theatre in Liverpool from October 1 to 12, 2013, and got very positive reviews.
